The OTTplay Awards 2025 provided an unforgettable evening as the esteemed figures of Indian cinema graced the stage. The evening brought together supremely talented artists from across the country, creating unforgettable moments that will remain etched in people's hearts for many days to come. One of the most memorable moments was undoubtedly when veteran actor-filmmaker Anupam Kher reminisced about his debut film, Saransh (1984).

At the OTTplay Awards 2025, Shekhar Suman came on stage to present the award to Patralekhaa for her incredible performance in IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack in the Breakthrough Performance in a Series (Female) category. However, the veteran actor decided to indulge in a banter with his long-time friend and colleague Anupam Kher. This led the latter to come on stage and both strike an intriguing conversation recalling their days working together in Utsav (1984).

On the stage, Suman was heard saying, "Anupam realised that he had become a star because he found out that koi inki aawaaz ki nakal kar raha hai. And he found out it was me."
The actor added, "He came running to me and said, 'Meri aawaaz ki nakal karke dikhao.' And the only line I could remember was 'TV lene nahi aaya tha main, bacche ki astiyaan lene aaya tha. Kya mere bacche ke astiyon mein mera haq nahi uske liye bhi mujhe? Ya uske liye bhi mujhe rishvat deni padegi?'"
There was a round of applause when Suman enacted the iconic scene of Anupam Kher in Saransh.

Moreover, the Vijay 69 actor also went on to share an anecdote about having a break or making a career moment four decades ago. Kher stated, "And I thought I was a gold medallist at the National School of Drama. I am on the streets and I am spending nights on railway platforms. This is a film that should work for me. If this film does not work, I will be going back to Shimla or Delhi or Lucknow."
The actor also enacted the same scene, making everyone get goosebumps while watching it live at the OTTplay Awards 2025.
