OTTplay Awards 2025: Nimisha Sajayan wins Best Actor (Female) (Critics) for Poacher

Nimisha Sajayan, who has been part of path-breaking films in Malayalam such as The Great Indian Kitchen, has left an impression in the realm of web series too. The Malayalam actress notched up the Best Actor (Female) (Critics) award at the third edition of OTTplay Awards, which was held in Mumbai on March 22.

Her intense performance in the series Poacher fetched the Best Actor (Critics) Award for Nimisha, marking her first win at the OTTplay Awards. Nimisha played the role of Mala Jogi, a forest personnel in the gripping series, which delved into the issue of ivory poaching in the country.

Notably, Poacher is the very first web series of Nimisha and winning an award for her debut venture speaks volumes about her performance in the show. Nimisha also featured in a key role in Netflix series Dabba Cartel, which had formidable names such as Shabana Azmi and Jyothika.

After receiving the award from actress Jyothika at the show, Nimisha said, “First of all I thank OTTplay for honouring me with this award. I also thank director Richie Mehta and all the forrest officials for supporting me so much.”

OTTplay Awards 2025, celebrating the theme of “One Nation, One Award”, was hosted by Aparshakti Khurana and Kubra Sait. Kajol, Divya Dutta, Rakesh Roshan and Manjoy Bajpayee were also honoured at the star-studded award function, that had the who’s who of Indian OTT space in attendance.

Celebs from various film industries including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada turned up for the event.
