OTTplay Awards 2025: Jyotika wins Best Supporting Actor (Female) for Dabba Cartel

Actor Jyotika, who is a household name in the south, starred the recently released Netflix crime drama series Dabba Cartel. Featuring an ensemble cast, including actor Shabana Azmi, Nimisha Sajayan and others, actor Jyotika played a prominent part in the series. She took home the Best Supporting Actor (Female) award at the third edition of OTTplay Award 2025, which was held in Mumbai on March 22.

Created by Shibani Dandekar Akhtar, Vishnu Menon, Gaurav Kapur, and Akanksha Seda, the series is helmed by Hitesh Bhatia. Excel Entertainment has produced Dabba Cartel. It revolves around a group of women who are the mastermind of a drug cartel, operating under the guise of a food delivery network.

Jyotika made her long-format debut with Dabba Cartel, although she has starred in a couple of straight-to-OTT films down south. She plays the role of Varuna in Dabba Cartel, a character she said that resonated with her personally. The actor, who is taking up roles in Hindi after a long gap, has earlier said how the industry is giving her opportunities to play varied roles.

Jyotika, who was presented the award by Mr. Chen and Deepak at the show that was hosted by Aparshakti Khurana and Kubra Sait, said, “A very big thankyou to Shibani and the writers of the show (Bhavna Kher and Vishnu Menon). My gal friends and Shabana mam. Thankyou so much to OTTplay, it is just overwhelming.”

Dabba Cartel consists of seven episodes which run for an hour each. It is available on Netflix.

OTTplay Awards 2025 also saw the who’s who of Indian OTT space turn up, celebrating the theme - “One Nation, One Award.” Rakesh Roshan, Manoj Bajpayee, Hina Khan, Jyothika and others were also honoured at the award function, which had celebs from film industries including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
