OTTplay Awards 2025: Aditi Rao Hydari bags Best Actor (Female) Popular for Heeramandi

Aditi Rao Hydari who recently got married, has been receiving praise for her role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s series, Heeramandi. She is one of the most loved actors in the industry. Aditi bagged the Best Actor (Female) Popular award at the third edition of OTTplay Award 2025, which was held in Mumbai on March 22.

Aditi Rao Hydari’s role as Bibbojaan earned her the OTTplay award. In Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, Aditi portrayed Bibbojaan, a courtesan with a hidden patriotic streak, who is also the elder daughter of Mallikajaan (Manisha Koirala). She is known for her elegance and grace, particularly her Gaj Gamini Walk, a dignified movement inspired by the majestic gait of an elephant. Her Gaj Gamini Walk went viral on social media, and it became a trend worldwide.

Aditi, who was presented the award by Shekhar Suman and RVR Chowdhary (Chairman of RVR Group) at the show that was hosted by Aparshakti Khurana and Kubra Sait. Aditi had a fun conversation on the stage as she gave two speeches. First one in a Tapori style, she said, “Apun ko ekdum raapchik maza arela tha Heeramandi mein.” Aditi thanked her directors in her acceptance speech for believing in her caliber. "Thankyou HT City, OTTplay Awards. I'm because of my director. I'm a complete director's baby. I'm incredibly happy to be picked by incredble directors. Thanks to Sanjay Leela Bhansali sir for choosing me as Bibbo Jaan. Thankyou for this blessing in cinema. I always feel like a five-year-old who gets excited for shoot."

Aditi had her moment on the stage as she concluded with her melodious voice as she sang "Lag Ja Gale...," which was followed by applaud and cheering!

Speaking about Aditi’s career, her first film role was in the 2006 Malayalam movie Prajapathi. She played an orphan who falls in love with the character played by Mammootty.  She has done several films such as Padmaavat, Rockstar, Murder 3, and more. The actress recently married actor Siddharth.

OTTplay Awards 2025 also saw the who’s who of Indian OTT space turn up, celebrating the theme - “One Nation, One Award”. Jyothika, Manoj Bajpayee, Imtiaz Ali and others were also honoured at the award function, which had celebs from film industries including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
