Actor Rana Daggubati bagged the Most Promising Actor on OTT (Male) for his performance in Rana Naidu at the second edition of the OTTplay awards on Sunday.
"It's called Rana Naidu. I don't think, anybody else could have played Rana Naidu. I think I should have deserved something for it. So thank you Netflix, Sundar and Karan for this," Rana said after receving the award.
Rana Daggubati made quite an impression on everyone with his debut web series Rana Naidu. He essayed the role of a 'fixer,' a resourceful man, who can make all the problems of powerful men vanish without a trace. Ironically, while Rana Naidu can shield the city's elite from shame and repercussions, he struggles to fix the problems within his family.
The Netflix web series follows Rana Naidu as he navigates the seedy underbelly of Mumbai's high society while juggling his own personal demons. The drama stems from the strained relationship between Rana Naidu and his father Naga Naidu (Venkatesh Daggubati). The relationship dynamics within the Naidu family are complex and fraught with tension, adding depth to the narrative.

Rana Naidu was the official Indian adaptation of the popular American TV series Ray Donovan.
Rana Naidu is directed by Karan Anshuman and Suparn Verma. The first season of the show premiered on Netflix on March 10, 2023, and quickly gained global attention as one of the most-watched non-English TV series for two weeks. Following an encouraging response from the fans in India, the streaming giant has renewed the series for a second season.
Besides Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh Daggubati, the show also stars Surveen Chawla, Sushant Singh, Abhishek Banerjee and Ashish Vidyarthi among others.
