Vidya Balan has bagged best actor female in a film (jury) award at the OTTplay Awards and Conclave 2022. The actress gave her husband a flying kiss in the middle of her speech. She won the award for her recent release, Jalsa.

Vidya has given back-to-back hits in Sherni and Jalsa. She was over-the-moon to have bagged an award for the latter.

During her speech, Vidya said, “The OTT platforms were a real lifesaver for the entertainment industry in the years of the pandemic. I’m so glad that you’ll are recognizing and appreciating, applauding and awarding the great work that’s been happening on OTT platforms.”

“This is my first award for Jalsa. I would like to share it with my favourite actor Shefali Shah,” she added. The actress ended her speech by giving a flying kiss to her husband Siddharth Roy Kapur.

Vidya had a fun moment on the stage while receiving her award – twice. The first time, she mistook the award for Sherni and gave a speech for Sherni. After realizing so, Vidya laughed loud.

The second time, when she gave Siddharth a flying hug, she pointed out how Kartik Aaryan was all hearts for the kiss. “The kiss was for my husband,” Vidya told the actor.

Jalsa became one of the most-loved movies on OTT, especially because it had talents like Shefali Shah and Vidya Balan, who are one of the pioneers in storytelling. The two actresses paved their own way in the industry and made a name for themselves in the unconventional way, which is loved by one-and-all.

OTTplay Awards and Conclave 2022 took place on September 10. The awards took place from 7.30 pm in Mumbai.
