The nominees for the 94th Academy Awards were announced
today, with the announcement ceremony being live-streamed on the official social media handles of the Academy Awards.
With this year’s Oscars theme being ‘Movie Lovers Unite’, the nominees were announced by Tracee Ellis Ross and Leslie Jordan. The duo was also joined by movie lovers from across the globe through video, with some of them getting the opportunity to announce nominees in certain categories. Among the guests included some first responders and healthcare workers as well.
This year, 276 films contended in 13 categories for the awards nominations. The awards ceremony will take place this year on March 27.
And of course, to add to Indian fans’ anticipation was a tweet made by Jacqueline Coley today, which hinted at the high chances of Suriya’s acclaimed Jai Bhim being nominated for an award.
