The trailer of Oru Jaathi Jathakam, starring Vineeth Sreenivasan, has finally been unveiled. The film, which was earlier set to be released in August 2024, has now got a release date of January 31, 2025. Ahead of the release, the makers unveiled the trailer which gives a glimpse into all the fun and chaotic events in the world of Oru Jaathi Jathakam, directed by M Mohanan.
The Oru Jaathi Jathakam trailer revolves around Vineeth Sreenivasan’s character Jayesh who is looking for marriage alliances.
The trailer begins with Sayanora’s character telling Vineeth Sreenivasan's Jayesh that he should probably look at women in the age of 30 to 35 for marriage alliances. Jayesh retorts that beyond the age of 30, they are not young women anymore, showing clearly that he belongs to the category of typical men who expect high standards from their partners.
This is followed by a series of sequences that chide the lead character for not having a closer look at himself who has his sleepy eyes, drooping shoulders and 'duckwalk'.
A horoscope (Jathakam) reading makes a declaration, considered damning by his family who says he is not ‘man enough’.
Overall, the trailer promises a fun outing with the film, touted to be a romantic comedy, as it traces the lead character's attempts and sheer desperation over finally settling down in marriage.
PP Kunhikrishnan, who seems to be playing the father to Vineeth Sreenivasan’s character, leaves a mark with his dialogues in the 1.58-minute trailer. Kunhikrishnan is best known for his performance as the magistrate in Nna Thaan Case Kodu, starring Kunchacko Boban.
The Oru Jaathi Jathakam trailer shows glimpses of the rest of the cast, including Nikhila Vimal, Babu Antony, Kayadu Lohar, Mridul Nair, and Sayanora Philip. Singer Vidhu Prathap is also seen in the trailer.
Oru Jaathi Jathakam is set to release on January 31, 2025. The film was earlier slated as an Onam release in 2024. The film’s teaser was also released way back in March 2024 but the release got postponed. The new release date was announced recently. The film marks Vineeth Sreenivasan's reunion with his Aravindante Athidhikal director M Mohanan. Notably, the 2018 film had Vineeth and Nikhila Vimal in the lead roles. Nikhila is also a part of Oru Jaathi Jathakam.
