The makers of the upcoming Malayalam social drama Oru Bharatha Sarkar Ulpannam have been instructed to rename the movie, which is an unexpected turn of events. They have been asked to alter the title by removing the word ‘Bharatha’ by the censor board. They have not given an explanation for the word change, though.
Speaking to OTTplay, director T V Renjith stated that the film was given a clean certificate by the board after the preview, but they were asked to immediately take down the trailer from YouTube and make this adjustment. "We do not have enough time to challenge this decision because we want to release the film in theatres on March 8. Consequently, we have made the decision to adhere to their instructions," he stated.

The debutante filmmaker mentioned that although the board members gave the film positive reviews, the decision to omit that word from the title surprised them.
In this film, Subish Sudhi, Gouri G Kishan, and Aju Varghese appear as lead actors. Oru Bharatha Sarkar Ulpannam's supporting cast consists of Darsana S. Nair, Jaffer Idukki, Vineeth Vasudev, Shelly, Vijay Babu, and Lal Jose. With this movie, T V Renjith makes his directing debut.
The trailer hints at a social drama that addresses a topic that is still taboo in our society. The two-minute clip claims that the film revolves around a National Population Control Mission initiative that involves male vasectomy performed in a panchayat.
It transpires that Gouri's character works for the initiative and is responsible for persuading the men in this panchayat to have this surgery. The stigma against married couples who choose not to have children is also discussed in the film.
The film is being produced by T V Krishnan, Renjith Jaganathan, and K C Raghunathan under the banner of Bhavani Productions. The writer of the screenplay is Nizam Rawther. Ansar Shah has been in charge of the camera work, while Jithin D K is the editor. Oru Bharatha Sarkar Ulpannam's soundtracks have been composed by Ajmal Hasbulla.
