Christopher Nolan weaved his authentic magic in the 2014 film Interstellar, a space odyssey that brims with every bit of the filmmaker's quintessence. Having concluded his Batman trilogy only two years prior with The Dark Knight Rises, Nolan shifted his gaze towards an expedition that is set entirely in the future, tackling, and also celebrating, poignant and overwhelming themes of human tenacity and the unyielding quest of the race for survival in the face of the unknown.

Interstellar is currently streaming on Netflix and much like any other Christopher Nolan title, has attracted tremendous viewership on the platform. In a manner, the film serves as a great companion piece to some of the auteur's other work such as Dunkirk (for the resilience it endorses), Memento and Inception (for the expert and mind-bending handling of time and space) and, of course, his latest epic Oppenheimer, for this film, too, captures the human pursuit of a solution in the face of impending doom.

More importantly, Interstellar also boasts the mesmeric performances of its central cast including Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, Michael Caine, John Lithgow and others. The score composed by Hans Zimmer, one of Chris Nolan's most intense collaborators, too, is one of the main highlights of the experience.

However, the film will have a shorter stay on Netflix India than imagined and is set to leave the streamer very soon. Interstellar will not be a part of Netflix India's repertoire after July 31, 2023. Of course, the jettisoning of the title from its library is a licensing call that Netflix often makes.

On the other hand, Nolan continues to remain a much-loved filmmaker in India as Oppenheimer makes a huge impact on the box office. The film, which released worldwide (including in India) on July 21, has already entered the famed '50 crore club' in a matter of 3 days and the latest trade reports suggest that it is well on course to collect lots more in the coming days. Though Oppenheimer has been mighty stiff competition outside India by Greta Gerwig's Barbie, the Indian box office has proven conducive yet again for the superstar director.
