Variety reports that Hulu (Disney+ Hotstar in India) has greenlit Only Murders in the Building for a fifth season. Ten episodes will make up Season 5 of the hit mystery comedy, as has been the case in previous seasons. Just over one week has passed since the launch of Season 4 on August 27, and it will run until October 29.

Only Murders in the Building Season 4 details and plot synopsis

In the latest season, the lead trio—Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez—go on a last-minute getaway to Hollywood to investigate the murder of Sazz Pataki, played by Jane Lynch, who was Martin's stunt double in the past, and to thwart a film adaptation of their podcast. Season four picks up where season three left off, with the trio engrossed in the investigation into the shooting death of Sazz, a long-time friend and stunt double of Charles. But when this season began, neither her corpse nor her blood spilt on the floor remained.

Eddie Longoria, Meryl Streep, Eugene Levy, Zach Galifianakis, Kumail Nanjiani, Molly Shannon, Melissa McCarthy, and Richard Kind are also part of the Season 4 cast.

Martin and John Hoffman jointly created Only Murders in the Building. Short, Gomez, Dan Fogelman, and Jess Rosenthal are among the executive producers, alongside both of them. On top of that, Hoffman is the showrunner. The studio is 20th Television.

Both critics and viewers have praised the show since its debut. For Season 3, Martin, Short, and Gomez all received nominations for outstanding lead actor and actress in a comedy series, totalling 21 Emmy nominations.

Expected release date for Season 5

On average, Rotten Tomatoes has given all four seasons a 97% rating for critical acceptance. Season five's release date remains unannounced, but if the series maintains its current trajectory, it is likely to occur in the summer of next year.
