The fourth season of Only Murders in the Building will feature Jane Lynch's character Sazz Pataki's murder. However, the trailer reveals a complex situation involving Steve Martin's Charles Hayden Savage, Martin Short's Oliver Putnam, and Selena Gomez's Mabel Mora. August 27 is when the show will be back on Disney+ Hotstar in India.
Charles, Oliver, and Mabel will grapple with the horrific events following the unexpected demise of Charles' stunt double Sazz Pataki at the close of Season 3, which takes place in both New York City and Los Angeles. In Los Angeles, a Hollywood studio is filming an adaptation of the Only Murders podcast while the trio continues their investigation into the murders, which has them wondering if Sazz or Charles were the intended target. The amateur detectives are on the run from New York when they go on an even more daring adventure—a journey around their building's courtyard to investigate the bizarre lifestyles of the people living in the West Tower of the Arconia.
"Somewhere lay a sniper's nest," Short says in the Season 4 teaser clip of Only Murders in the Building. With the star-studded cast of murder mystery series growing by the day, identifying that sniper will be an even bigger challenge in the upcoming season.
Oliver says they're "going to the movies," and the new show explains why some of the stars are joining the cast. The show's "starriest season yet" will reunite the original three sleuths with other characters who have been there from the start of their Arconia story.
Plus, new additions Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria, Zach Galifianakis, Melissa McCarthy, Molly Shannon, Kumail Nanjiani, Richard Kind, Michael Cyril Creighton, and Da'Vine Joy Randolph are joining the cast.
There were a plethora of important categories represented by the 21 Emmy nominations for the series that Martin and John Hoffman produced. These included Best Comedy Series, Best Lead Actor (Martin and Short), Best Actress (Gomez), and Best Supporting Actress (Streep).
