It's been a year since Ajith's action entertainer Valimai released and fans are on a jubilant mode. The film, directed by H Vinoth, is bankrolled by Boney Kapoor. The action thriller's star cast includes Ajith, Huma Qureshi, Kartikeya, Gurbani Judge, Sumithra, Dhruvan, Achyuth Kumar, Dines Prabhakaran, GM Sundar and Pearle Maaney. Music for the film is by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by Nirav Shah and editing by Vijay Velukutty. Fans have gone on an overdrive as they took to social media to celebrate the occasion.
In the meantime, actor Kartikeya, who played a crucial role in the film, recalled some fond memories of working with the actor. Dropping a throwback picture of himself in which he is seen flaunting his beefed up body, Kartikeya wrote, "Been one year #VALIMAI released ..Thank you #Ajithsir ,#hvinoth sir,@BoneyKapoor sir for the great opportunity Had amazing memories shooting for the film ..one of the mandatory routine was flexing in the van right before the shot.. #1yearofvalimai. (sic)."
The film's editor Vijay Velukutty, too, wrote that Valimai was quite a nerve-wracking project. He wrote, "#OneYearOfValimai,Right from #AjithKumar sir, #HVinoth sir to the last person who have worked for the project, It was physically & mentally draining to complete it. The Toughest part in editing was a seq where Ajith sir was chasing the Villain on a highway before they reach the dirt bike stretch, It demanded blood and sweat from the actor, #NiravShah sir rolled one of the fastest footages on the road. It was filled with breathtaking moments as Ajith sir had to drive at max speed to get the perfect shot as planned by @dhilipaction master. It took days & nights of re-edits for me to achieve this one particular piece (sic)."

Valimai marked the second collaboration between Ajith, H Vinoth and Boney Kapoor after Nerkonda Paarvai, the Tamil remake of Pink. The trio later reunited for Thunivu, which hit screens for Pongal this year.
