In August 2023, Akshay Kumar's film, OMG 2, clashed with Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 at the box office. Both films did well at the ticket window. Almost two months after their theatrical release, both movies headed for OTT releases. While Sunny's Gadar 2 premiered on ZEE5, OMG 2 is set to have a Netflix release. The Amit Rai directorial was scheduled to premiere on October 8, 2023. However, there's a change in plan.
OMG 2's OTT release date
The leading OTT giant surprised fans with a special announcement. Akshay Kumar's video was shared by Netflix and it was revealed that OMG 2 would arrive on October 7, 2023.
While sharing Kumar's video, the streaming platform captioned the post, "We’ve got a surprise! Make room for 2x entertainment 'cause we brought OMG 2 one day early! OMG2 drops tomorrow on Netflix! (sic)."

Akshay Kumar's latest film release
Meanwhile, Akshay's new movie, Mission Raniganj, hit the big screen today (October 6). The movie is helmed by Tinu Suresh Desai. Parineeti Chopra reunited with Khiladi Kumar after Kesari for this project.
Mission Raniganj is based on the real-life incident of 65 miners who were rescued by mining engineer, Jaswant Singh Gill, from a coal mine. The incident took place in West Bengal in 1989.
Upcoming projects
The actor has an exciting line-up of films. His long list of upcoming projects includes Soorarai Pottru's Hindi remake, Welcome To The Jungle, Hera Pheri 3, Singham Again, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Sky Force, and more.
Akshay will also be making his acting debut in Marathi cinema with Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle. Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, the period drama will star Akshay in the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
