Say what you may about Anoop Menon’s recent productions such as Padma and King Fish, but one thing you can’t deny is that the actor-producer-scriptwriter sure knows how to cut hilarious teasers for his movies. The teaser of his latest movie Ohh... Cinderella, which is helmed by Renolze Rahman and marks the acting debut of Dilsha Prasannan, takes a jab at certain actors’ self-marketing techniques.
The teaser, which presents Prashanth Alexander as a marketing genius in conversation with a budding actor, is a hilarious take on how actors pitch themselves, through the way they carry and also has a huge bearing on how they are perceived by the audience, social influencers and those within the industry.
Oh... Cinderella teaser ridicules stars’ rising remuneration
The video, which was released through Anoop Menon’s social media page, starts off by Prasanth’s character mocking the young actor for wearing a G-Shock watch and asking him to choose only Hublot, Richard Mille or Audemars Piguet. When the actor says he doesn’t have the ability to buy any of those, the former tells him that even his contemporaries don’t flaunt original watches and instead get them from Meena Bazaar in Dubai or from Bangkok for Rs 5000.
“But when celebrities wear them, people google them and find that the price is Rs 18 lakh or Rs 65 lakh and would be shocked. Fools!” he explains, adding this would lead to the market value of the star rising. “How will a producer ask a star, who wears a watch worth Rs 25 lakh, to act in a movie for Rs 30 lakh?”
Oh... Cinderella to mark Dilsha Prasannan’s acting debut
The movie, which has wrapped shooting, will be Bigg Boss Malayalam winner Dilsha’s acting debut. In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Anoop said that the film has a fresh theme that would appeal to the audience. Apart from Dilsha and Anoop, the movie also has Dinesh Prabhakar and Aju Varghese as part of the cast.
