The teaser and trailer of Anikha Surendran’s upcoming movie Oh My Darling had piqued the curiosity of the younger audience, especially with the videos standing out due to its vibrant visuals, which is more K-Drama in tone than a Malayalam movie. That’s also what the makers had tried to attempt with this upcoming romcom.
Apart from being Anikha’s first Malayalam movie as a heroine, the film also has Melvin G Babu, who was last seen in Jo & Jo, as the male protagonist, with Mukesh, Manju Pillai, Fukru and Johny Antony playing other pivotal characters.
What is the story of Oh My Darling?
The movie is a feel-good romcom that has Anikha essaying the role of a college student named Jenny, who falls for a carefree youngster named Joel. Things, however, soon take a turn after an incident. Will their relationship outlive the adversity?
In an earlier interview with us, Anikha said the reason she decided to take up the movie was that it had her in a “fun, bubbly” character that was different from any of the previous roles she has done in her career so far. When asked if she had a preference on the kind of roles to play as a heroine, the Butta Bomma actress said, “I didn’t have a preference per se. But I did wait for whatever roles I saw myself doing. There were some other offers in Malayalam, but I found the role in Oh My Darling more in my comfort zone.”
The shoot of the movie was wrapped up within a month last year. Oh my Darling is directed by Alfred D’Samuel and scripted by Jineesh K Joy.
When and where to watch Oh My Darling?
