The most-anticipated update from Silambarasan’s upcoming project, tentatively titled STR 48, is finally here! Kamal Haasan’s home banner Raaj Kamal Films International, which is bankrolling the project, took to their social media handles to make the new announcement. The makers revealed that the ‘first twinkle’ or the first glimpse will be dropping on February 2.
“#STR48 making its First Twinkle on 2nd February. Let the Celebrations Begin!,” the makers posted. The new update will be dropped on Silambarasan’s birthday which falls on February 2.
Simbu’s fans who have been waiting for this long-awaited update from the makers and are flooding their social media with reactions. One user wrote, “Twinkle Twinkle little star, #STR is our little Super Star”. For the unversed, Simbu is also known as the Little Superstar. Another user wrote, “Long wait finally ends..#STR gonna twinkle more shiner than ever”.

For the uninitiated, the upcoming film, touted to be a period film, is directed by Desingh Periyasamy. Simbu is said to be playing double roles in the film – one as the hero and the other as the antagonist. It is also reported that the film is based on a clash between two brothers. Kamal Haasan is said to be making a cameo appearance in the film.

It is also speculated that director Desingh Periyasamy and the art department of the film are currently working with around 30 graphic artists to create the main design of the film. The reports reveal that the team is planning to make an elaborate period action film.
Interestingly, the film’s script was first narrated to Superstar Rajinikanth, however, the story failed to impress the actor, which was later taken up by Simbu.
If the reports turn out to be true, the film is likely to go on floors in February. The recent updates also hint that the Maanaadu star will begin shooting for his portions for the film right from the first schedule.
