Nushrratt Bharuccha announces next film Akelli, unveils intriguing first glimpse

Nushrratt Bharuccha has always been bold in her movie choices and "Akelli" seems to be no different. Set against the harsh deserts of Iraq, "Akelli" follows the story of a woman who finds herself trapped in arduous circumstances. The film tells a devastatingly empowering story of rising above situations and the unwavering resilience of a person in situations of mere hopelessness and fear.

This will be Pranav Meshram's first project as a debutante director. He has previously worked as an associate director on films such as Queen and Commando 3 The producer and Founder of Dashami Studios, Mr Nitin Vaidya, has announced with ecstatic anticipation that the film will star Nushrratt, and that her character will serve as a beacon of hope to women everywhere who are enduring hardships and need a fresh dose of inspiration.

While the plot delves into a very different realm from regular mainstream films, Vaidya states that director Pranav Meshram has weaved all the intricacies together so well and has breathed life into his vision in such a way that "His conviction made us want to back this movie." He is also eagerly awaiting working together with Nushrratt Bharuccha.

Bharuccha was mostly recently seen in the social comedy Janhit Mein Jaari, directed by Jai Basantu Singh and written by Raaj Shaandilyaa, with her co-stars including Paritosh Tripathi, Vijay Raaz. She will next be seen in Ram Setu, an action-adventure film directed by Abhishek Sharma and starring Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez and Satya Dev among others. Another upcoming release of hers is Selfiee, currently in the process of filming. Akelli is produced by Dashami Studioz' Nitin Vaidya, Ninad Vaidya, Aparna Padgaonkar along with Vicky Sidana & Shashant Shah.
