Commemorating NTR’s 100th birth anniversary, his elder son Nandamuri Jayakrishna launched his new film production banner titled Basavatarakarama Creations today. Jayakrishna’s brother and actor-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna graced the banner launch event. The first project under Basavatarakarama Creations will be the launch vehicle of Nandamuri Chaitanya Krishna, son of Jayakrishna.

The first film under the banner hasn’t been titled yet and will be helmed by Vamsi Krishna Akella. This is a new-age script and has a different concept; we plan to announce the title and other details surrounding the film shortly, Jayakrishna said. “I am happy that my younger brother Balakrishna launched this banner.”

“To be launched in a banner like Basavatarakarama Creations, established by my father and launched by my uncle is a special feeling. I feel blessed,” Nandamuri Chaitanya Krishna added. For the uninitiated, the banner is named after NTR and his better half (Jayakrishna’s mother) Basava Tarakam. (Balakrishna also manages a hospital, specialising in cancer treatment in Hyderabad, named after his mother too)

“I congratulate my brother Jayakrishna wholeheartedly for the banner launch. This is our banner - by and for all our Nandamuri brothers. I am so happy that our parents’ names find a mention in the name. Nandamuri Chaitanya Krishna is one of NTR’s favourite grandsons and I wish him and director Vamsi the best for the film’s success. I heard he has picked a unique storyline for the film,” Balakrishna mentioned.
