There's lots to look forward to if you are a Jr NTR fan. The 41-year-old actor is currently working on Koratala Siva's Devara, a revenge drama that has him playing an alluring larger-than-life character. He's joined by Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan who make their Telugu debuts, with the latter playing the antagonist.

NTR is also set to make his bona fide Bollywood debut in the near future with Yash Raj Films' second instalment of the War franchise, War 2. Ayan Mukerji, the director of films like Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva, will try his hand at a spy action thriller for the very first time and his arsenal will also include the very capable Hrithik Roshan.

But soon after the Devara duties are done with, Jr NTR's focus will shift to Prashanth Neel's magnum opus, popularly known as 'NTR 31'. This film, which will be produced by Mythri Movie Makers, is scheduled to go on floors in March 2024 and one hears that the team plans on mounting the film at a scale that's on par with the KGF films.

And in the same vein emerge the reports that attempt to throw some light on the subject matter of the film. Prashanth Neel, who is also writing the script of the film, is said to be putting together an action thriller and while that comes as no surprise, given his penchant for 'high-octane' spectacles, what's striking in this case is the backdrop he has apparently chosen. The same report speculates that NTR 31 will be set against the backdrop of an India-Pakistan war, with the story most likely unfolding at the border dividing the two countries.

'Speculate' is the operative word here, considering that the film's script is still in the development phase and it would take a while before these reports are substantiated.

What's interesting, though, if the speculations were to come true after all, is that we are discussing a period film in the works. The troubled Indo-Pakistani relationship has witnessed multiple wars/conflicts over the years, with those fought in the years 1965, 1971 and 1999, in particular, being explored in multiple films and web series. All said and done, it'd be prudent to wait for a formal word of some kind to come about sometime soon. More updates to follow.
