Noticed Sarkata in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 trailer? More similarities with Stree 2 explored

Kartik Aaryan-Vidya Balan-Triptii Dimri's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 trailer was unveiled a while back with Madhuri Dixit coming in as the biggest surprise. Both Vidya and Madhuri play the roles of Manjulika in the movie. But, there's more to it. The film also has a Sarkata, a la Stree 2. And the connection is not just limited to Sarkata. Here's everything we noticed in the film's trailer that took us back to Rajkummar Rao-Shraddha Kapoor's movie...

Sarkata spotted in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3

No, it is not the same Sarkata as Stree 2, but there is a Sarkata in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and there was only a glimpse of him in the trailer. This comes in the neck-holding scene. While in Stree 2, Sarkata targetted women, the Sarkata from Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is seen holding the neck of a man (Rajesh Sharma) who holds Rooh Baba (Kartik Aaryan)'s neck.

Manjulika and Stree 2 have a strikingly similar backstory

When you rewind to the original Bhool Bhulaiyaa and compare it to Stree 2, you realize that both the stories are strikingly similar. There's a king who beheads a slave who was married to Manjulika. This is the story of Bhool Bhulaiyaa. Similarly, Stree 2 explores the story of how Sarkata comes to power when Stree loses her power, and the two are revealed to be past lovers. Sarkata from Stree 2 was also beheaded over a courtesan (Manjulika was also a courtesan). With the story of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, the makers might just be exploring what happened with Sarkata in Stree 2 - he multiplied. In Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, we might just see both Madhuri Dixit as well as Vidya Balan as Manjulika, with none of them lying about their identity.

While Sanjay Mishra's character is heard asking who switched on Netflix, the real question is why was Rajpal Yadav's Chhota Pandit pushed away from the portal? Will we explore another hideout with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3? Well, the mysteries will be unfolded on Diwali when the film releases in theatres.
