Fans of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (ZNMD) have been waiting for a sequel to the movie, only to find disappointment towards the end. They found hopes again when seeing Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol giving out the movie's vibes last night. But, the reality behind that post is far from it. Much like Reema Kagti has shared, ZNMD 2 is not in the works and the trio came together for another reason. Here's what that is...

Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol posed against the vintage car used in ZNMD, leaving fans of the movie excited. But the reality is far from that. The trio is not here for ZNMD 2, and the hint is in their Yas.

The trio collaborated not for ZNMD 2 but because they are the brand ambassadors for Yas Island in Dubai. Yes, the doors on ZNMD 2 are currently shut.

Reema Kagti had recently asked fans to keep calm and not pressurize the makers into a sequel without a solid plan in place. She felt that the movie, which holds a special place in people's heart, should remain untouched and so, ZNMD 2 is currently on hold indefinitely.

Jee Le Zaraa also on hold

While ZNMD 2 is on the backburner, the female version of it aka Jee Le Zaraa with Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra Jonas is also not taking off anytime soon, Farhan had confirmed. He revealed that there is a clash of schedule which is why the movie could not move forward and is still on the backburner. So, for now, there's no great news around ZNMD.

Farhan Akhtar-Reema Kagti in theatres and on OTT

While Farhan Akhtar-produced Dabba Cartel is making the right noise on Netflix, Reema Kagti's Superboys of Malegaon is receiving love in theatres. The movie already has a deal with Prime Video and thus, it could be out on OTT just as soon. Now it's just a matter of waiting it out.
