Not just Jee Le Zaraa, ZNMD 2 also on hold? Here's what Reema Kagti has to say

It is a heartbreaking day for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara (ZNMD) fans, for there's not one but two films around the franchise that might be on hold. Farhan Akhtar hinted that Jee Le Zaraa, often touted as female version of ZNMD, is on hold. This happens after Reema Kagti also hinted that the sequel aka ZNMD 2 might also not happen. Here's what's happening...

ZNMD 2 might not be in the works

Yes, Farhan Akhtar, Hrithik Roshan and Abhay Deol sure played tease when they shared a video of them together. This left all ZNMD fans obviously excited, but writer-producer Reema Kagti has something else to say. While talking to Zoom, she asked that the film be left alone till a great script comes along the way. "Because of the pressure on us to write Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara 2, maybe that’s a film we should leave alone till we get a really good idea," Reema said.

When Farhan Akhtar, Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol teased ZNMD sequel

The trio of Farhan Akhtar-Hrithik Roshan-Abhay Deol played tease with a video not too long ago. Hrithik started by stating, "Unbelievable." Farhan followed suit by saying, "Outstanding," as the ZNMD song Señorita played in the background. Abhay tagged producer Zoya Akhtar and asked her if she saw the signs. Zoya teased us further by writing, "Yes, the universe is speaking to me."

Update on Jee Le Zaraa

While Reema Kagti gave Zoom an interview, Farhan spoke to India Today about his projects. His directorial Jee Le Zaraa, often touted as the female version of ZNMD, was addressed. He shared an update, stating that he has tried to co-ordinate the dates with Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt and Priyanka Chopra Jonas but things are yet to work out. The project which was announced back in 2021 thus is currently on hold. He wished to talk on the movie another time, hinting that it might be at the backburner for now.
