When the teaser of the upcoming Kannada film Nodidavaru Enantare dropped, audiences could not help but exclaim that lead actor Naveen Shankar’s script selection deserves applause. The actor, who has been part of critically-acclaimed films like Dharani Mandala Madhyadolage and Hondisi Bareyiri, as well as commercial big-tickets like Gurudev Hoysala and Salaar Ceasefire, plays the lead in director Kuldeep Cariappa’s Nodidavaru Enantare, which will be in theatres in the new year.
Nodidavaru Enantare, which has Naveen as Siddharth, a young man who leaves home and family behind to embark on a journey of self-discovery and to understand the meaning of life. The film had been announced four years ago, with Sriimurali and Umapathy Srinivas gracing the title launch event. Speaking to the media then, Naveen had said that when he was offered the role of Siddharth, it resonated with him, as the character was in the same emotional status as he was at the time.
“Like Siddharth, every individual will have questions about themselves and life at large. Until a certain juncture in life, everything is decided by others, whether it is our parents, our teachers, etc. This is one segment of our journey, which shapes us as individuals in a certain manner. But then, there comes a point at which you will wonder if this is really you, or whether it is a version based on your lifestyle and memories till then. Nodidavaru Enantare is Siddharth’s journey to find answers to the many questions that pop up about him, how society reacts to him, etc.,” explains Naveen.
The actor was also highly appreciative of the producer for backing a content-oriented subject and allowing the team to work on it with passion and no compromises. Naveen also said that while his debut film Gultoo was also about a journey, inherently, both films are vastly different.
