No Thalapathy Vijay film for Rakshit Shetty; actor-director lists films that are giving him sleepless nights

In the last several days, there was a lot of buzz about Kannada actors in other industries. For starters, there was the rumour that Kantara director-actor Rishab Shetty was Mollywood bound with Mohanlal’s Malaikottai Valiban. This turned out to be fake news. Then there was another that Rakshit Shetty was heading to Kollywood with a role in Thalapathy Vijay’s next untitled film. Rakshit himself has now clarified that he’s not doing that film.

Taking to social media, Rakshit put out a list of films that he will be working on in the coming days, and clarified that anything else netizens read on the internet is not true, referring to the #Thalapathy67 rumours. Rakshit wrote, “My line ups are quite clear after SSE. i.e. RA, PK 1 and 2, M2M… these are the only four films which gives me sleepless nights. No KP2 as well… but I have different plans for KP2. Let’s see. Anything else u read on the internet isn’t true. Was never true… Love you all.”

While SSE is Rakshit’s film with director Hemanth Rao, Sapta Sagaradaache ello, RA refers to Richard Anthony, the actor-filmmaker’s next for Hombale Films. PK1 and 2 will also be Rakshit’s own films, Punyakoti 1 and 2, while M2M is Midway to Moksha. Rakshit’s much awaited Kirik Party sequel is not happening now, but he has not ruled it out completely.

Sapta Sagaradaache Ello, which pairs Rakshit with Rukmini Vasanth, is one of the most-awaited films of 2023. Hemanth, for who this is a second collaboration with Rakshit after Godhibanna Sadharana Mykattu, has been tight-lipped about the subject of the film, but the few glimpses that he has released in the public domain has created a lot of intrigue, especially given the actor’s physical transformation, wherein he gained 15-20 kgs for the second half.
