In the last few days, the buzz in Sandalwood circles was that Kiccha Sudeep’s Max would be released in December 2024, as Real Star Upendra’s UI was being postponed. A delay in the completion of UI’s visual effects was cited as the possible reason for the postponement. However, the team of UI remained vociferous that there would be no change in release plans, even though, it would be one of many films in the Christmas week.

Upendra promises not a teaser or trailer, but...

A little while ago, Upendra and his team took to social media to declare that ‘A Warner’, which is not a teaser or trailer, was on the way on December 2 at 11.07 am. The post also reiterated that UI would be a December 20 release, confirming the clash between the two films. It was initially thought that Max would be a Sankranti release, well after UI’s outing, but now, they are only 5 days apart, which has divided netizens about whether it is a smart move to have two A-list hero films in theatres at the same time.

With a little more than 3 weeks to go before its release, there is very little that Upendra has revealed about the film to the public. UI is his return to direction after nearly a decade, so there’s a lot of intrigue and expectation surrounding the film. The first teaser had no visuals and was aimed at having the audience’s imagination go wild, while the second was set in a dystopian world. Incidentally, Sudeep had unveiled this teaser in January this year.

In March, he released the Troll Song, featuring Reeshma Nanaiah, but since then, there’s been radio silence. What will Upendra’s ‘Warner’ be about? Well, we’ll know on December 2, but one thing’s for sure, the Real Star is not backing out of this clash of the Titans.
