PremiumNivin Pauly releases clip featuring Jaffer Idukki’s wedding caterer Sura from Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham
The movie, directed by Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval, is set to drop on Disney+ Hotstar on Disney Day

By now it’s obvious that Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval’s Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham, starring Nivin Pauly and Grace Antony, is going to be a laugh riot. The teasers and trailers very much point to that and now the makers are releasing character snippets. The first one that was shared by Nivin through his social media page was that of Jaffer Idukki’s Sura aka Surendran.
Sura, who checks into the hotel where the movie’s plot is set in, introduces himself as a wedding caterer. But when Joy Mathew asks him why he isn’t busy with work, he tells him that why does he have to work on days where there are no weddings.
The movie, which also has Vinay Forrt, Sudheesh, Rajesh Madhavan and Ratheesh, is set in a drab hotel called HillTop Hotel where Nivin’s and Grace’s characters check in. Soon, the latter couple find out that their hotel has problems bigger than their own.
Apart from the first 20 minutes, the rest of the movie is set inside the hotel. Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham, which is also produced by Nivin Pauly, was shot right after the lockdown restrictions were eased in Kerala last year.
The movie, which is set to release on Disney+ Hotstar on November 12, is also the platform’s first direct Malayalam OTT release. It also marks Nivin’s OTT debut.
In the coming days, the team is expected to keep releasing character snippets from the movie up till the film’s release date on November 12. A few days ago, they released a sneak peek featuring Nivin’s Pavithran talking about how to perform in front of the audience, especially through ‘roaring’.
