We had earlier reported that Telugu actor Nithiin will be teaming up again with director Venky Kudumula for a project. Earlier today, the makers revealed the first look and title of the film: Robinhood. The duo has earlier worked on the Telugu film Bheeshma.
On the occasion of Republic Day, the makers of Robinhood released the first look poster. The film is backed by leading production house Mythri Movie Makers. The makers also released a glimpse of the film, giving us a hint as to what the film will be about.
The glimpse of the film, which was released on Friday, gives a hint as to what the film will be about. Entering the frame disguised as Santa Claus is Nithiin, who is holding a bag of cash and gold. While the front portion of his bike reads, ‘I’m an Indian’, in the back, it is written, 'I’m aware that I’m rare'. As he hides his money, Nithiin says that since he treats all Indians as his brothers and sisters, he also feels the right to steal money from them. Meanwhile, Nithiin was last seen in Extra Ordinary Man, an action comedy film written and directed by Vakkantham Vamsi.
Robinhood is backed by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar under the Mythri Movie Makers banner. Besides Nithiin, the film will also feature Rajendra Prasad and Vennela Kishore in prominent roles. It has music by GV Prakash Kumar, while Sai Sriram is in charge of cinematography. Prawin Pudi is the editor and Raam Kumar is the art director. Venky Kudumula will serve as the writer and director of the film.
It is to be noted that earlier, when the project was announced, Rashmika Mandanna was announced as the female lead of the film. However, later, since the actor got busy with other projects, she had to walk out of the project. The makers are yet to officially announce her replacement, but as per reports, Sreeleela, who was last seen in Guntur Kaaram, is expected to be cast as the female lead. A release date for Robinhood is yet to be revealed.
