Judging by the track record of young stars Naslen and Mathew Thomas, a majority of the films they have been part of have been hits. The most recent example would be Super Sharanya that had Naslen teaming up again with their Thaneer Mathan Dinangal director Girish AD. Both Naslen and Mathew Thomas are now gearing up for the release of their next film together Jo and Jo.

The makers of the movie, which is directed by debutant Arun D Jose, announced that it will hit theatres in Kerala on May 13. Apart from the two youngsters, the film also has Nikhila Vimal, Johny Antony and Sminu Sijo in pivotal roles.

The movie was completed in a single schedule in Ernakulam, Idukki and Kottayam last year. The film’s director Arun, in an earlier interview with OTTplay, had told us that Jo and Jo is a coming-of-age story that falls under the young adult genre. “It’s also a family drama that involves incidents related to friends, siblings and family,” said the filmmaker.

The movie has a stellar crew behind it including composer Govind Vasantha, Ishq’s cinematographer Ansar Sha and Kala’s editor Chamman Chacko. The team had released a lyrical video of its song Puzhayarikathu Dumm, which gave us a glimpse of its characters played by Naslen and Mathew.

Incidentally, the duo is also set to work together in Sudhi Maddison’s upcoming entertainer titled Neymar. The movie is again a fun entertainer that revolves around the lives of two youngsters who have just passed their plus-2 exams.

Both Mathew and Naslen play members of a Brazil football fans club in the movie, which is set to go on floors next month. While Mathew has Prakashan Parakatte also set for a theatrical release, Naslen is part of Sathyan Anthikad’s Makal, which will hit theatres on April 28.
