The fun entertainer, directed by Arun D Jose, hit theatres on May 13

Nikhila Vimal and Mathew Thomas’ fun entertainer Jo and Jo, which is helmed by debutant Arun D Jose, opened to largely positive reviews when it released in theatres on May 13. We have now learnt about the OTT platform the movie will be streaming on after its theatrical run.
The entertainer, which is set during a pandemic lockdown, revolves primarily around the relationships between siblings Jomon and Jomol, essayed by Mathew and Nikhila, respectively. How an incident leads the duo, who are almost always at each other’s throats, to go all out to expose their other side that their parents aren’t privy to forms the plot.
The movie, which is also co-scripted by director Arun, has Naslen Gafoor and Melvin playing Jomon’s buddies Manoj Sundaran and Eby, respectively. Sagar Surya and Kalabhavan Shajohn too appear in cameos in the film, which has Johny Antony and Sminu Sijo essaying the role of the titular characters’ parents.
Loaded with relatable references from the lockdown life including the craze for Ludo, cooking, online classes as well as the frustrations of being cooped up home, the film is a comedy entertainer that also takes a look at the life of a daughter and a son in the family.
The digital rights of the movie, which has Govind Vasantha as its music director, has been sold to Amazon Prime Video. The film is expected to stream on the OTT platform after its theatrical run in June.
Mathew, meanwhile, also has another coming-of-age drama coming with Prakashan Parakatte, which is scripted by Dhyan Sreenivasan. The film, which revolves around a youngster and his goals, is set to hit theatres on June 17. Also starring Saiju Kurup, Dileesh Pothan, Aju Varghese and Dhyan, the movie’s digital rights were bought by ZEE5 that will be streaming the movie from July onwards.
