Shilpa Shetty will finally be back on the big screen yet again, as she gears up for the release of her upcoming film Nikamma. During the film’s trailer launch event recently, the star recalled a piece of advice given to her by Shah Rukh Khan on the sets of her debut film Baazigar.
Recalling the initial days of her three decade long career, Shetty reminisced about her ‘roller coaster ride’ of a career. She talked about how she used to know little to no Hindi back then, and worked hard on her language. She recalled how her first shot in Baazigar had taken place in a park.
The actress revealed that she used to finish off saying her lines as quick as she could, and not face the camera. Her co-star Khan had advised her to look into the camera and imagine the camera is the audience, and then say her lines.
The actress had taken a hiatus from acting in the late 2000s, making only brief cameo appearances and also serving as a judge on reality shows. Shetty had made a comeback to acting with the film Hungama 2, which had a direct-to OTT release on Disney+Hotstar.
Nikamma will see the actress return to the big screen after the end of her acting hiatus. The upcoming action entertainer is directed by Sabbir Khan and also stars Abhimanyu and Shirley Setia. Produced by Sony Pictures International Productions and Sabbir Khan Films, the film will be released in theatres on June 17. Shetty will also star in the upcoming film Sukhee, helmed by Sonal Joshi and bankrolled by T-Series and Abundantia Entertainment.
