Nijam with Smita: Sai Pallavi on her journey from medicine to cinema, dance and her view of the Me Too movement

If Premam gave Sai Pallavi a spectacular launch and upscaled her popularity among audiences, it was the Telugu film industry that took notice of her talents almost immediately and offered her a flurry of projects. Fidaa was a befitting beginning for her Telugu career and she never had to look back later, bagging one plum role after the other.

The actress was last seen in Virtata Parvam, opposite Rana Daggubati, and is rumoured to be playing a crucial role in Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 as well. This week, she’ll be seen in the fifth episode of Sony LIV’s talk show Nijam with Smita hosted by musician, entrepreneur Smita Vallurupalli. She shared her views on a wide range of aspects in the intriguing episode which was out on Friday.

Sai Pallavi, in the episode titled ‘The Multi-faceted Persona: Sai Pallavi’, spoke of her tryst with medicine before the film bug bit her. Even while Smita referred to her as a good actress first and a ‘doctor’ later, she cheekily responded, “Am I not a good doctor too?” When asked about her favourite actor who she’d want to share the dance floor with, among Ram Charan, Jr NTR and Allu Arjun, “I want to a dance number with three of them in the same song,” the actress played safe.

That’s not all, on a serious note, she shared her views on the Me Too movement too, stating, “It’s just not about physical or sexual abuse. I feel verbally insulting someone also should be counted as a form of abuse.” While Sai Pallavi awaits the release of her next with Tamil star Siva Karthikeyan next, she’s taking her own time to listen to scripts and is prioritising quality over quantity, as always.

Raadhika Sarathkumar, Supriya Yarlagadda, Swapna Dutt Chalasani, Allari Naresh, Anil Ravipudi, Adivi Sesh, Major Bharath Reddy, Dev Katta, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Jaya Prakash Narayan and Ram Madhav will grace the show in the later episodes. Chiranjeevi, Chandra Babu Naidu, Nani, Rana Daggubati, Sudheer Babu and Gopichand Pullela were the guests in the first four episodes of Nijam with Smita.
