Seems like the superhero bug has bitten Nicolas Cage yet again as the man is probably making a Ghost Rider return after joining Spider-Man Noir.

Amid all the questions around superhero realms and their ability to captivate audiences, one actor has successfully revived his superhero career. That actor is none other than Nicolas Cage, who has been making headlines for his latest projects. After his cameo as Superman in The Flash, finally giving him redemption for his canceled Blue Boy Scout film two decades ago, Cage has tasted the glory of the superhero genre and wants more of it. What else could explain why he said yes to Amazon’s Spider-Man Noir show , which he is currently filming? While these projects continue to make buzz, a new rumor suggests he’s also considering a return as Ghost Rider.
This is what fans have been hoping for over a decade now. The Nicolas Cage fandom has eagerly awaited the star’s return as Johnny Blaze and his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut. There were even rumors and projects where it seemed that might finally happen. However, it didn’t. Now, a new rumor suggests he’s in discussions, and here’s all you need to know.
According to My Time To Shine Hello, Ghost Rider and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance star Nicolas Cage, after declining a role in Deadpool & Wolverine, is actively in talks with the studio to reprise his iconic part. Details on the project Cage may join and how he might be included are yet to be revealed. Observing the trajectory of recent films, if he does reprise Ghost Rider, Cage will likely appear in Avengers: Doomsday and/or Avengers: Secret Wars.
According to Comic Book Movie, Ryan Reynolds recently confirmed that both Daredevil and Ghost Rider were considered for Deadpool & Wolverine. As per Reynolds, “[Daredevil and Ghost Rider] were in early drafts. We had versions of that [sequence], but then as it shook out, we were trying to make the movie responsibly as well.”
He further explained how it didn’t come to fruition, and Ghost Rider and Daredevil didn’t make it into the final cut of Deadpool & Wolverine. “It’s a big budget. It’s the biggest budget of any of the Deadpool movies, but you want to give yourself as much constraint, which I think facilitates asymmetrical thinking and creativity. If you have too much time or too much money, it usually stifles that kind of creativity. So, yeah, you’re shrinking things. But we did talk to Nic Cage. We tried to get him, but he was a no-go. I would've loved him.”
The plan was, of course, to have Daredevil and Ghost Rider in The Void, like the other mutants who made their way, including Blade, Elektra, Gambit, and X-23. It will be exciting to see the next opportunity for the studios to bring these characters back. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more information on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
