Nia Sharma was announced as the first confirmed contestant of Bigg Boss 18. Rohit Shetty made this big announcement during Khatron Ke Khiladi 14's grand finale. However, the actress left everyone disappointed when she backed out of the reality show. Nia apologized to everyone and clarified that she wasn't joining Salman Khan's Bigg Boss 18. Now, in an interview with Pinkvilla, Nia has opened up about the whole reality show fiasco.

Nia Sharma on Bigg Boss 18 fiasco

Speaking with the entertainment portal, Nia Sharma admitted that it was Colors channel's strategy to create a buzz. She was supposed to enter the Bigg Boss 18 house but for a different reason.

"It was Colors. I was told at the very last minute. I was supposed to go for Laughter Chefs integration, but a few days after the announcement, Laughter Chefs got canceled. So eventually, when I was supposed to go, and I wasn't supposed to go, the whole thing was to create a buzz, and I think they succeeded very well," she told the portal.

The actress added that she felt it was okay to play along. Nia recalled being criticized and getting harsh words from people even after her apology. "I was not supposed to put up a note. All that was done by the Colors team. It was their strategy, and it was up to them. I am working for them, and if they are doing something in my name, it's completely alright," added Nia.
