The Tamil industry brings together the star cast of Madhavan, Nayanthara, Siddharth and Meera Jasmine for Test, which is among the most-awaited OTT releases this week. On the other hand, Malayalam industry chips in with Oru Jaathi Jathakam and Machante Maalakha. Language: Tamil 

S Sashikanth marks his directorial debut with Test which features R Madhavan, Nayanthara, and Siddharth in pivotal roles along with Meera Jasmine. The Tamil film is skipping its theatrical release, and heading directly to Netflix. The film, which has a connection to cricket, revolves around three individuals whose lives get intertwined.

Oru Jaathi Jathakam

Platform: Manorama Max  

OTT release date: April 1, 2025 

Language: Malayalam 

Vineeth Sreenivasan headlines Oru Jaathi Jathakam, which narrates the tale of Jayesh, who is unable to find a ‘suitable’ life partner. Nikhila Vimal and Kayadu Lohar also feature in this comedy entertainer, which raised eyebrows over some of its dialogues. Vineeth, who previously directed the 2024 film Varshangalkku Shesham, returns to a lead acting role with this Malayalam film, helmed by M Mohan.

Machante Maalakha

Platform: Manorama Max 

OTT release date: April 4, 2025 

Language: Malayalam 

Another Malayalam film making its digital premiere on Manorama Max this week. Soubin Shahir and Namitha Pramod play the lead roles in this film, directed by Boban Samuel. Upon its theatrical release, Machante Maalakha was met with poor reviews, and it remains to be seen how the film will fare in the OTT space.

Home Town

Platform: aha 

OTT release date: April 4, 2025 

Language: Telugu 

Rajeev Kanakala and Jhansi star in the lead roles in Aha’s new series that delves into the life of a middle-class family in a small town as the father dreams of his son going to the US. Home Town promises to be yet another feel-good series which beautifully blends comedy and emotional elements.
