The auspicious day of Dasara has brought along a special treat for Challenging Star Darshan fans. Earlier today, Kaatera director Tharun Sudhir took to social media to share a new poster from his upcoming film and it features the actor in a rather dashing avatar.

Darshan is all macho in his retro shades in the new poster and needless to say, his fans are overjoyed to see him pack a punch. It also helps that he flaunts his muscly arms to confirm that he will at his massy best in Kaatera, knock down evils one by one. While they did express a lot of excitement over the poster, many of them seem keener to see the film's first teaser, whose release remains long overdue.

Kaatera to be a 2024 release

There's no doubt that Kaatera is among the most-awaited films of the near future but one certainly seeks more clarity regarding its release date. The ongoing speculations state that late January or early February 2024 could be what the makers are looking at but neither Darshan, director Tharun Kishore Sudhir nor producer Rockline Venkatesh has commented on this matter as of yet.

Regardless of the date, Darshan's fans would hope that he gets the right release slot so that the film's full box office potential could be realised. One might argue the actor's last two films were road-blocked by external factors during their respective theatrical runs - Roberrt had to deal with the lockdown restrictions whereas Kranti had Pathaan to reckon with - so, this time around, Kaatera should expectedly have a smoother go at the box office.

Based on true incidents

Writer-director Tharun Sudhir has shared in his previous interviews that he was inspired to work on Kaatera because of a few real incidents. Although the film is a bona fide commercial entertainer, he says that it has a strong message rooted in the villages of Karnataka, where the film is set entirely. On top of that, Tharun Sudhir also takes us back in time to the 1970s to make things more intriguing for all of us. Radhana Ram makes her debut and the cast also includes Kumar Govind, Shruti and others.
