Kalki 2898 AD is a highly anticipated epic science-fiction dystopian movie inspired by Hindu scriptures, set in a post-apocalyptic world in the year 2898 AD. The film is directed by Nag Ashwin and produced by C Aswani Dutt under Vyjayanthi Movies, making it a significant project in the Telugu film industry. It has a star-studded cast with Prabhas playing the lead role, along with Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, and other well-known actors.
Earlier the film was slated to be released in January 2024. However, due to reasons best known to the creators of the film, the movie’s release date was pushed forward to May 9, 2024. Observing the current trends in the film industry, it is likely that the release date of the film might change again because of the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections 2024.
A report by Pinkvilla believes that the film might be released on April 20, 2024. However, there is no official confirmation of the details given in the report.
The film has been in the film since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
