The makers of Sivakarthikeyan's Prince recently confirmed that the film will indeed hit screens for Diwali, by releasing a new poster of Sivakarthikeyan from the film. In the poster, we see Sivakarthikeyan having fun in a classroom, surrounded by children. Taking to his social media handle, the film's music director Thaman, wrote, "Super Fun O Fun laugh Riot #Diwali Coming to U Guys From Our Dear darling Brother @Siva_Kartikeyan @anudeepfilm Next Song is Even More Fun..#PanGanna Song coming o Coming (sic)."

In the meantime, the team announced the shoot has been wrapped up and they celebrated the occasion on the set with a cake-cutting ceremony. The makers shared the pictures on their social media handle, and wrote, "#Prince wrapped up with a song shoot. Meet you all in theatres this Diwali (sic)." There is also a buzz that the audio launch is likely to be held on October 9. However, the team is yet to come up with an announcement.

Prince has Sivakarthikeyan playing a teacher who falls in love with a foreigner in Puducherry. Ukrainian actress Maria Ryaboshapka plays the leading lady, thus marking her debut in the Tamil film industry. Prince is touted to be a romantic comedy and has been shot across multiple locations of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. This is the first time that Thaman is scoring music for a Sivakarthikeyan film. Paramahamsa is handling the cinematography and Praveen KL is in charge of the editing.

The film is gearing up to hit screens on Diwali. It will clash with Karthi's Sardar, which is a spy thriller, directed by PS Mithran. In the meantime, Sivakarthikeyan has begun work on his next with National Award-winning director Ashwin Madonne's Maaveeran. The film is a Tamil-Telugu bilingual. He also has in his kitty, Ayalaan, a science fiction comedy by P Ravikumar. The film marks the comeback of Isha Koppikar to Tamil cinema. It will also star Rakul Preet Singh and Sharad Kelkar.
