The series Never Kiss Your Best Friend, which revolves around two best friends, became an instant hit on its release on ZEE5 in January 2020. Due to the immense popularity, the makers had announced a sequel of Nakuul Mehta and Anya Singh's drama. The two will be reprising their roles in season two of the show. The show will have some new cast additions as well. Joining the lead cast are the popular actors Karan Wahi and Sarah-Jane Dias.
The two will play prominent roles in Season 2 of this fan-favourite franchise. The series follows the story of two best friends, Sumer played by Nakuul and Tanie played by Anya, who are struggling with complicated feelings for each other. Wahi will be seen playing the role of Karan Saxena, a popular actor, and Dias will be playing the role of Lavanya, the heir to the Meraki legacy, which is a big-shot film production house in London. As these two new characters get involved in Sumer and Tanie’s life, their entries lead to further complications, drama, new emotions and new connections.
Talking about joining the popular franchise, Karan Wahi said in a statement that the show is a modern-day young, progressive and relatable series. "The writers have attempted to share their perspective on friendship, love and rekindling romance, which is intriguing and stimulating. I am ecstatic to be a part of such a dynamic cast and crew who have welcomed me with open arms and heart," he said. Sarah-Jane Dias is excited too, to be a part of the show. She said the shoot for season two was like a big holiday as everyone got along so well, 'like a bunch of besties'. "It’s always refreshing to be a part of a young and vibrant series and I can guarantee that even for the viewers, this show is going to feel like a breath of fresh air," she added.
The series is based on Sumrit Shahi's book by the same name. Directed by Harsh Dedhia and produced by 11:11 Productions, season two stars Nakuul Mehta, Anya Singh, Karan Wahi, Sarah-Jane Dias, Jaaved Jaffri, and Nikki Walia, among other supporting actors. The new season aims to answer the quintessential question that everyone wants to know: Can you become best friends with your ex?
