Netizens convinced that Shivarajkumar’s second home production is Bhairathi Ranagal

Today, at 12.12 pm, Century Star Shivarajkumar will announce his second home production, under his banner Geetha Pictures. The announcement comes just over two months after his debut venture, Vedha, hit theatres. While the official post about today’s announcement read, “The World Will Stand Still At 12:12 PM. Announcing His Arrival Tomorrow..”, netizens are convinced that it is all about the film Bhairathi Ranagal.

Ever since Shivarajkumar’s post came, all the responses to it have been about the actor collaborating with Mufti maker Narthan yet again. Bhairathi Ranagal was Shivarajkumar’s character in the film, a crime boss ruling over a village, whom police wanted to arrest, for which an undercover cop, Gana, played by Sriimurali, infiltrates his camp, only to find out that he’s a saviour for the village. The film ended with Bhairathi surrendering to the police, upon which it is revealed that he knew about Gana’s real identity all along.

Way back in December 2017 itself, it had been announced that Bhairathi Ranagal’s journey would continue, with Narthan to direct Shivarajkumar as a home production for the actor. At the time, it was planned as a Sri Muthu Cine Creations venture, a banner that is now run by the Century Star’s daughter, Niveditha. Bhairathi Ranagal was initially planned as a prequel that would delve into the circumstances surrounding how he came to be a gangster. However, more recently, Shivarajkumar had said that the character was being revisited with a prequel and sequel angle.

Exciting as this collaboration is, if Bhairathi Ranagal indeed goes on floors shortly, it will also end all speculation surrounding Narthan as the likely director for Rocking Star Yash’s much-awaited next. For several years now, it has been said that the actor would be working with the Mufti maker. The director has been working on a script for Yash and has not done another film since Mufti.
