Netizens applaud Randeep Hooda’s physical transformation for Swatantra Veer Savarkar, fans say ‘Nailed it’

Actor Randeep Hooda is currently gearing up for the release of his highly anticipated biographical drama film, Swatantra Veer Savarkar. Randeep plays the titular character of Veer Savarkar, alongside Ankita Lokhande and Amit Sial in the biopic. Swatantra Veer Savarkar, helmed by Randeep Hooda, chronicles the life of freedom fighter Veer Savarkar and also features Savarkar’s time in the infamous Kaala Paani jail.

Showcasing the physical transformation that the actor had gone through while preparing for the character, Randeep posted a black and white image of himself on his Instagram handle with the caption, “KAALA PAANI.” The picture showcases the lean and lanky figure of Randeep Hooda with a bald head.

Netizens' reaction

Randeep’s fans were quick to take note of the post and commented on the post, appreciating his undying devotion for his passion. Artist Usha Hooda commented, “I remember the day you came to the sanctuary and how your doc sis was making you lose a kg a day for the cellular jail....you have such passion for what you do! I hope this film will change many stagnant mindsets in our country,”

Another user appreciated Randeep’s ability to fit into his character by stating how the actor lost kilos of weight for his film Sarbjit and for Swatantra Veer Savarkar, the user said that he cried watching the Legendary movie Sarbjit. "The focus and dedication you gave to that movie which made us believe how Sarbjit was going through behind the bars in Pakistan almost made us dead inside, And here's another piece of art you are working on to put your hard work and efforts to make us understand how L Sawarkar was behind the bars in Kalapani for the freedom of India...,” the user posted.

Some compared Randeep’s craft to that of Hollywood actor Christian Bale and wrote, “Damnn our own Christian Bale” and “Nailed it. Christian bale of Bollywood.”

Slated to hit the theatres on March 22, 2024, Swatantra Veer Savarkar promises to keep the audience hooked to the screens. The film is co-produced by Randeep, along with Zee Studios, Sandeep Singh, Anand Palit and Sam Khan.
