Here we have compiled all the facts you need to know about Netflix’s Fear Street, before you start watching the series:

Fear Street Release Dates

One by one, all the three parts of Fear Street will be released every Friday, with the first episode, Part 1: 1994 to begin streaming from July 2. Part 2: 1978 will be released a week later on July 9 and the final instalment Part 3: 1666 will be released on July 16.

Fear Street Plot

Fear Street is an adaptation of the Goosebumps writer RL Stine’s Fear Street novels. The trilogy will follow one horror story spread across 300 years and told over three films.

RL Stine is often referred to as the Stephen King of children’s literature. Even though the writer is best known for the top seller - Goosebumps series, he has also written many other horror novels including the teen focused Fear Street books.

The Fear Street book is set in a fictional city named Shadyside. The story follows different teenagers as they encounter paranormal and hostile entities. However, since the book is aimed at an older audience, unlike Goosebumps, Fear Street has plenty of violent and gory deaths.

RL Stine himself said in a statement that the movie will be even more violent than the books, “Fear Street fans are in for a treat – and some major surprises,” said the author. “Readers know that the book series is rated PG. But the movies are rated R. That means a lot more thrills – and a lot more terror!” he added.

Fear Street trailer

Before the release of the trailer for the first part, Netflix released two trailers teasing the entire trilogy. The first, released earlier this year in May, gave us an initial look at the nostalgic and violent upcoming series.

A second, longer trailer was released a couple of weeks ago as part of Netflix’s Geeked Week event and this one gave us a better idea of the plot as well as some slasher jumpscares.
