Netflix unveils Neeraj Pandey’s Khakee: The Bengal Chapter; promises to make this season bigger, and bolder

Last year saw one of the most hard-hitting dramas ever witnessed on the OTT platforms in the form of Khakee: The Bihar Chapter. For those who known about it, will remember it as a seven-episode series which starred some of the brilliant actors like Karan Tacker, Ashutosh Rana, Nikita Dutta, Anup Soni, Avinash Tiwary, Abhimanyu Singh, Jatin Sarna, Ravi Kishan, Shraddha Das and others.

Khakee: The Bengal Chapter

The riveting series was created and written by Neeraj Pandey; it was directed by Bhav Dhulia. After the runaway success of the series, the makers today, announced the much awaited second part of the series in the form of Khakee: The Bengal Chapter.

'Sagas of betrayal and redemption'

The same was unveiled by the OTT major Netflix today, besides a host of other announcements. There is a promise that the makers of ‘Khakee: The Bengal Chapter’ have committed to the audiences. This time round, the series ‘Khakee: The Bengal Chapter’ is expected to tread on the path of stories and sagas of betrayal and redemption.

Taking to social media, the officials at Netflix, after unveiling the series’ name and logo through a short video, had captioned the post as, “DISHKYAON!! Kolkata ke gangsters aur kanoon ki taqat ka hone wala hai faceoff. Khakee S2, coming soon only on Netflix!”.

As for Neeraj Pandey, who happens to be the ‘brains’ behind the super strong project, gave his take on the entire thing. On his part, he said that the success of Khakee: The Bihar Chapter was a testament to their partnership (the makers and the OTT platform Netflix). He added that they had shared the vision with Netflix in order to unveil local stories with global appeal!

He also added that, with the second chapter of their cop franchise, they are confident that their collaboration would make this season bigger, and bolder, and win them more love from the audience, who he considers and termed as ‘the ultimate stakeholders’.

Besides the title, the show’s makers have not revealed anything more, in terms of the cast and other aspects. Watch this space for further developments.
