Netflix has announced three new members to the cast for its upcoming film Lou. Logan Marshall-Green (from How It Ends), Matt Craven (from Sharp Objects) and debutant child star Ridley Asha Bateman are the latest additions to the list. They will join the previously announced cast members including Allison Janney (from Bad Education) and Jurnee Smollett (from Lovecraft Country).
Logan Marshall-Green was recently seen in the movie How It Ends by writer-directors Zoe Lister-Jones and Daryl Wein. He has also been part of movies like Spider-Man: Homecoming, Snowden, Prometheus, Upgrade, Across the Universe and The Invitation. Meanwhile, Matt Craven has appeared in movies such as X-Men: First Class, Public Enemies, Deja Vu, Disturbia, Crimson Tide, Jacob’s Ladder and shows such as HBO’s Sharp Objects, FX’s Justified and ABC’s Resurrection.
Allison Janney is the recipient of numerous accolades including an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in I, Tonya. She has also received a Golden Globe Award, a British Academy Film Award, seven Emmy Awards, three Critics Choice Movie Awards, three Critics Choice Television Awards and seven Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Lou follows the life of a young woman and her landlord named Lou (played by Allison Janney). They both team up to find the woman’s daughter who is kidnapped by her own father. Janney’s character is a mysterious, hard shelled and rule breaking woman who has exceptional tracking abilities. The journey to find the girl leads them into the wilderness, which tests their limits and exposes dark secrets from their past.
Lou will be helmed by Anna Foerster who is known for her work in Outlander and Westworld, while the script for the movie will be written by Maggie Cohn. The feature film will be produced by JJ Abrams, Hannah Minghella and Jon Cohen along with executive producers Braden Aftergood, Lindsey Weber, Jurnee Smollett, Cory Bennett Lewis and Allison Janney.
