Neru, the courtroom drama that features Mohanlal in the lead role, has already emerged as a critical and commercial success. The movie, which marked the Malayalam superstar’s fifth collaboration with the renowned filmmaker Jeethu Joseph. As reported earlier, Neru made a great opening at the box office, by making a worldwide collection of Rs. 3.04 crores on its release day. Now, the latest reports suggest that the Mohanlal starrer performed better than Day 1, on its third day of release.

According to the latest updates from the trade experts, Neru has surpassed its release day collections on Day 3, by making a worldwide collection of Rs. 3.12 crores. The Mohanlal starrer has thus made a total box office collection of Rs. 8.29 crores at the worldwide box office. In that case, it is safe to assume that the courtroom drama has all the chances to easily cross the prestigious 10-crore mark at the worldwide box office, within the fourth day of its release.
When considering the heavy audience rush and massive increase in the advance bookings rate, Christmas Day is going to be much bigger than Sunday, for Neru. It won’t be surprising even if the Jeethu Joseph directorial manages to cross the 15-crore mark at the box office, just within the first 5 days (including Christmas day) of its release. The rave reviews and word-of-mouth publicity are working wonders for the well-made courtroom drama.
Neru: Plot, Cast and Crew
Mohanlal appears in the role of Adv. Vijayamohan, the senior lawyer who gets appointed as the public prosecutor of Sara, the visually impaired sculptor who was raped by the son of an affluent man. How Vijayamohan supports Sara in her fight for justice forms the crux of Neru, which is jointly penned by director Jeethu Joseph and actress-writer Santhi Maya Devi.

Anaswara Rajan played the role of Sara in the movie, which stars Priya Mani, Siddique, Jagadish, KB Ganesh Kumar, Sree Dhanya, Kalesh Ramanand, Nandu, Santhi Maya Devi, Krishna Prabha, Aditi Ravi, and others in pivotal roles. The Mohanlal starrer, which is bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas, is slated to have its OTT release in January 2024, on Disney+ Hotstar.
