Neeraj Pandey is coming back with the second chapter of Khakee. After Bihar, he has touched upon Bengal in the upcoming series, Khakee: The Bengal Chapter. This season will focus on Bengal's 'pada' culture.

What is 'pada' culture, specifically to Kolkata?

Each state has their own ‘pada’ culture, but Kolkata is different from other states. Speaking of it, Neeraj Pandey explained to Mid-Day that ‘pada’ culture is ‘a neighborhood club system that has transitioned from organizing blood donation camps to becoming the state government’s foot soldiers’.

Khakee: The Bengal Chapter fictional with a few references from Neeraj Pandey’s own life in Kolkata

The filmmaker explains that while The Bihar Chapter was adapted, The Bengal Chapter is more fictional in comparison. He, however, added that there were a lot of reference points which they have used for the series. For the uninitiated, Pandey has spent a good amount of his childhood growing up in Kolkata. The same became his reference for Khakee season 2.

Neeraj Pandey to explore a lot more Indian states with Khakee?

If there is one thing that Naam Shabana scriptwriter (the movie can be streamed on Zee5 via OTTplay Premium) was sure of, it was that Khakee's story will not be limited to Bihar. He wanted to expand it to various Indian states from the word go and the filmmaker is finally ready to do so with Khakee: The Bengal Chapter. Pandey had spoken about it when launching The Bihar Chapter itself. Now, he is ready with the second season of the show and is likely already planning the third season (or might announce it with The Bengal Chapter itself).
