Malayalam actor-rapper Neeraj Madhav is one of the first Mollywood stars to make a pan-Indian mark on OTTs. The actor, who had starred as the antagonist Moosa in the first season of Amazon Prime Video’s The Family Man and is also part of Netflix’s anthology Feels Like Ishq, has now teamed up with Netflix for a song.
Sharing a poster of his latest music release, Neeraj said, “A little Surprise! The Netflix South Indian Anthem is dropping on July 7th. Are you ready to listen to our stories? We have something really fun coming your way.” The song has him collaborating with Enjoy Enjaami fame Arivu, Siri and Hanumankind.
Neeraj’s rap career took off last year with the release of his EP Jungle Speaks Vol 1 and singles Panipaali, Wish, Hope and Fly. Panipaali, which has over 60 million views on YouTube, had him collaborate with Arcado and the actor also announced Panipaali 2 recently.
In a recent interview with OTTplay, Neeraj said, “In the past, many used to consider YouTube videos lame but now people have made careers out of it. As far I was concerned, music and especially hip hop was something that I always wanted to do. During the lockdown, when I got time, I could use that space and now I seriously want to progress my music career along with films.”
The actor will next be seen in Netflix’s anthology Feels Like Ishq, which will release on July 23. Neeraj and Zayn Marie Khan are part of director Sachin Kundalkar’s segment in the series, which revolves around young adults finding love at unexpected places.
