Nee Vente Nenu is a Telugu indie film starring debutants Balu (originally Balasubramnayam Motupalli) and Sneha in the lead roles. Both are software engineers by qualification but were bit by the film bug and eventually decided to don the grease paint with this project. The film is an urban romance that marks the directorial debut of Anwar, also a cinematographer.

Balu’s father, Venkata Rao, interestingly makes his acting debut too with Nee Vente Nenu. The film was made on a shoestring budget with a skeletal cast and crew in and around Kakinada, with the shoot proceeding for a month’s time. While its shoot was completed some time ago, the makers decided to skip the theatrical release and premiere it digitally on Cinebazzar, a growing VOD OTT platform.

Cinebazzar is an OTT theatre where the viewer can choose to watch the film at time of his/her choice for a price of Rs 25. Ganesh, Gavarraju, Naveen, Srimani, Rajeshwari Guddi and Venkanababu play other supporting roles in the film. Shashank Bhaskaruni scored the music for the project and Shankar Bolem is the editor of the same.

Yada Lo Lo, Ee Kshanamuna and Ella Ella are among a few songs released digitally via Madhura Audio. The story takes off when a father initially disagrees with his daughter about her relationship. In a bid to make amends, he starts searching for his daughter’s lover. How far will he go to find him and make his daughter happy? We’ll know more as we watch it. The film’s runtime is 105 minutes.

“We intentionally chose romance as the theme because everyone has a first love in their lives and will relate to the story. I had to be responsible because I was using my father’s hard-earned money in the film. I feel it is a practical decision to release the film directly on OTT, enabling us a wide reach in over 170 countries, which wouldn’t have been possible in theatres,” Balasubramanyam shared.
