The beauty of the digital medium is its democracy - it empowers quality content and gives it the deserved reach sans bias. The emergence of OTT platforms has given a new direction to the career of the many promising storytellers inching for an opportunity to make it big. Another indie Telugu film, Nee Vente Nenu, has skipped its theatrical release and has taken the OTT route.
Balu (Balasubramanyam Motupalli, also the producer of the film), Sneha play the lead roles in the film that has largely been shot in Kakinada. Anwar, also the cinematographer of Nee Vente Nenu, makes his directorial debut with the SVS Movies production. Venkata Rao, Venkana Babu, Ganesh, Naveen, Gavarraju essay other prominent characters in the romance drama.
Nee Vente Nenu is gearing up for its digital premiere on October 6 via Cinebazzar, an upcoming video-on-demand platform, that also serves as a digital theatre. The film, which can be streamed on multiple devices, is priced at Rs 25 and can be watched round the clock as per the choice of the viewer in 177 countries. The OTT platform, owned by Ratnapuri V Bhaskar, is popular among Kannada viewers already.
Balasubramanyam Motupalli, the lead actor and the producer, is a software engineer by profession, who is committed to making a mark in films. Interestingly, his father Venkata Rao, who also makes his acting debut with the film, had aspired to be in the industry in his younger years. He is now happy that his son is fulfilling his dream and chasing his passion.
Sneha, the film’s female lead, is also a corporate professional. The film revolves around the highs and lows in the life of a modern-day couple. The team intentionally chose a love story to reach a wider audience, resonate with their tastes. Shashank Bhaskaruni scored the music for the film while Shankar Bolem is the editor. Madhura Audio acquired the music rights.
