Nayanthara to headline Mookuthi Amman 2, see announcement video

After playing the role of titular goddess in the 2020 Tamil fantasy comedy film Mookuthi Amman, Nayanthara is once again set to reprise her role in the upcoming sequel of the film. Yes, the makers announced the sequel, Mookuthi Amman 2, on social media recently.

Nayanthara to headline Mookuthi Amman 2

On Friday, Vels Film International, the production banner which backed the 2020 film, released an announcement video of Mookuthi Amman 2, the sequel. The video revealed the title of the film, with a divine music, as Mookuthi Amman. With the tagline "a divine battle begins soon", Nayanthara is revealed to be playing the lead titular role. A release date for Mookuthi Amman 2 has not yet been revealed.

However, the makers did not announce the cast and crew of Mookuthi Amman 2. It is believed that RJ Balaji who directed and acted in the first part will not be associated with the project. An official announcement on the cast and crew is expected to be made soon.

Where to watch Mookuthi Amman?

Mookuthi Amman is available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. Mookuthi Amman is a fantasy comedy film, written and directed by RJ Balaji who also starred alongside Nayanthara in the lead role. It released directly on the platform for Diwali 2020.

The film also starred actors Urvashi, Smruthi Venkat, Madhu Mailankody, Abinaya, Moulee and Ajay Ghosh, and others in prominent roles. The film revolves around a news anchor, who with the help of the titular goddess, tries to expose a fake godman.

Meanwhile, as per reports, it is believed that RJ Balaji will be teaming up with Trisha for a film, which will be similar to Mookuthi Amman. The project is expected to be a fantasy film with a divine intervention. However, it is said that Balaji will be doing it for another production house. An official announcement on the same is yet to be made.
